Business line

The business line of the NCDCP as a central depository according the Business Register of the Slovak Republic is:

  1. keeping records of book-entry securities and immobilized securities in the register of issuers,
  2. keeping records of holders of book-entry securities on holders´ accounts, and information on securities on the client accounts of members in the extent stipulated in the Securities Law,
  3. recording changes on holders’ accounts in the extent stipulated in the Securities Law, and on the client accounts of members,
  4. recording the information related to the book-entry securities and immobilized securities in the extent stipulated in the Securities Law,
  5. providing services to the members of the central depository, the issuers of securities, the stock exchange, a foreign stock exchange, that are related to the activities set forth in paragraphs (a.) to (d.) and (l.) to (t.) hereof,
  6. providing and organizing the system for technical data processing for keeping the records according to paragraphs (a.) to (d.) hereof and according to paragraph 104 (2) (a) to (c) of the Securities Law,
  7. clearing and settlement of stock exchange transactions with financial instruments, and clearing and settlement of transactions with financial instruments upon request of the client or the organizer of the multilateral trade system; clearing and settlement of such transactions means organizing and operating the system of clearing and settlement of transactions with financial instruments (hereinafter referred to as the “settlement system“) for minimum thee participants in the settlement system, other than the central depository operating such settlement system,
  8. keeping the register of shareholders holding documentary registered shares,
  9. opening and maintaining holder´s accounts,
  10. recording any changes in holder´s accounts,
  11. recording any other information, if stipulated by the Securities Law or a special law,
  12. ensuring payment of the nominal value of securities and payment of gains from securities upon expiry thereof, as well as any other related activities upon issuer´s request,
  13. custody and management of financial instruments on the client´s account, including custody management and related services, including but not limited to management of funds and financial bonds,
  14. leasing of safe boxes,
  15. opening an account with a foreign legal entity performing the same business activities as the central depository, with a foreign bank or with a foreign broker, and providing any related services; such account is governed by the laws applicable for establishment of the relevant foreign legal entity, the foreign bank or the foreign broker having opened such account for the central depository; the records of the information on the holder of the security is governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic,
  16. recording foreign book-entry securities issued or to be issued by the European Central Bank or by the European Central Bank in cooperation with the National Bank of Slovakia, and provision of related activities and activities of the central depository; keeping of such records is governed by the Securities Law, special laws, the operational rules of the central depository, and the agreement concluded between the central depository and the European Central Bank or between the central depository and the National Bank of Slovakia,
  17. opening and maintaining a technical account in order to secure the obligations and receivables arising from the clearing and settlement of the transactions with financial instruments,
  18. opening and maintaining an owner´s account for the central depository, and provision of related services,
  19. opening and maintaining a holder´s account for the central depository, and provision of related services,
  20. provision of any other activities related to the activities of the central depository according to the Securities Law.
